Fruitland Park NLS & DYLC

February 20-22, 2026

Warren Willis UMC Camp, Fruitland Park, FL

What are NLS & DYLC?

The National Leadership Seminar (NLS) is designed to develop leadership skills among key youth and adult members of the Order of the Arrow, enhancing their service to Scouting and the community. Complementing the National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) for youth and Wood Badge for adults, NLS encourages participants to commit to applying their newly acquired skills in their lodges and communities. Attendees will engage in intense training sessions covering topics like decision-making, resilience, and growth mindset, equipping them to strengthen leadership within their chapters. NLS offers an intensive and challenging experience that fosters development while providing opportunities for friendship and personal growth.

The Developing Youth Conference (DYLC) aims to enhance advisers’ ability to cultivate youth leadership within their lodges and chapters. Participants will explore topics such as promoting resilience, fostering a growth mindset, providing constructive feedback, and building lasting mentoring relationships. This conference will equip advisers with the insights needed to effectively mentor youth in applying leadership skills from NLS. Additionally, DYLC will help advisers move beyond lodge operations to create a culture that empowers youth to build teams, set goals, and guide lodge achievements within the Performance Measurement Program (PMP). Although prior attendance at NLS is encouraged, it is not necessary.
